The Hangar was a temporary shipping container venue installed for the duration of New Annual in a prominent space in Civic Park.
Part-cabaret theatre, part-bar and part-festival hub, The Hangar showcases a range of local performers through the festival. Its anchor show is produced by Zackari Watt and celebrates Newcastle’s unique and long-standing engagement with circus, cabaret and alternative performance.
Outside the theatre, The Hangar provides a relaxed bar atmosphere with live music and ‘sideshow’ style performance. Inside, the mainstage production ‘Intergalacular Sci-Fi Spectacular’ was shown featuring Made.In.Newcastle artist Ali Pickup.
