Bio:

As a printmaker with twenty years experience and a life-time love of fabrics, Amanda tries to instill these passions in her art. She continues the many years of tradition behind her print and textile artforms, whilst taking the time to create items which are hands-on and tactile. She was selected for the Manly Library Artists’ Book Award, was a finalist in the Silk Cut Award, and her work is included in the Albury Regional Gallery collection.

Made.In.Newcastle Project:

Amanda conducted a series of workshops at The Edwards, exposing participants to the traditional and beautiful art of shibori and indigo dyeing. Allowing them to get their hands and brain working to create their own piece of art that they could use, gift or combine into other projects. Each session included an intro to Shibori Dying and bind/tie pieces, dyeing, oxidising and rinsing – every step to complete their very own piece of Shibori dyed art.

Additionally, as a part of Made.In.Newcastle By the People, Amanda conducted a series of workshops at The Arts Emporium, Lambton.
